क्रिसमस के दिन ईसाई लोग अपने घर को भलीभांति ( properly) सजाते  (decorate) हैं।

(Christmas key din eesaayee loag apney ghar ko bhaleebhaanti sajaatey hain.)

The Christians decorate their houses properly on the  Christmas day.

क्रिसमस की तैयारियां ( preparations) पहले से ही होने लगती हैं।

(Christmas  kee taiyaariyan pahley se hee honey lagtee hain.)

The preparation for the Christmas is done in advance.

लगभग एक सप्ताह ( week) तक छुट्‍टी रहती है।

(lagbhag ek saptaah tak chuttee rahtee hai.)

Aproximately one week vacation is there.

बाजारों की रौनक ( lively) बढ़ जाती है।

(Baazaaron  kee raunka badh jaatee hai.)

The markets become lively.

घर और बाजार रंगीन रोशनियों से जगमगा उठते हैं।

(Ghar aur baazaar rangeen raushniyon  mein jagagaa uthey hain.)

The colourful lights lit up in the houses and the markets.

चर्च में विशेष प्रार्थनाएं ( prayers) होती हैं।

Girijaaghar mein vishesh praarthnaayein hotee hain.)

The churches have special prayers.

लोग अपने रिश्तेदारों ( relatives) एवं मित्रों से मिलने उनके घर जाते हैं।

(Loag apney rishtedaaron evam mitron se milney unkey ghar jaatey hain.)

The people  go to meet their relatives and friend to  their house.

सभी एक-दूसरे को उपहार (gifts)  देते हैं।

(Sabhee  ek  doosrey ko uphaar detey hai.)

All give presents/gifts to each other.

इस दिन आंगन ( courtyard) में क्रिसमस ट्री लगाया जाता है।

(Is din aangan mein Christmas tree lagaaya jaataa hai.)

The Christmas tree is planted in the courtyard on this day.

इसकी विशेष ( special) सज्जा की जाती है।

(Iskee vishesh sajja kee jaatee hai.)

It is decorated specially.

इस त्योहार में केक का विशेष ( special) महत्व ( importance) है।

(Is tyohaar mein cake ka vishesh mahatv hai.)

There is a special importance of cake in this festival.

मीठे, मनमोहक केक काटकर खिलाने का रिवाज ( tradition) बहुत पुराना है।

(Meetehyt , manmohak  cake  kaatkar khilaaney kaa rivaaz bahut puraana hai.)

The tradition of cutting sweet, adorable cake and feeding is  a very old tradition.

लोग एक-दूसरे को केक खिलाकर पर्व की बधाई ( wish) देते हैं।

(Loag ek doosrey ko cake khilaakar parv kee  badhai detey hain.)

The people wish each other by  offering/ giving cake to eat.

सांताक्लाज    का रूप धरकर व्यक्ति बच्चों को टॉफियां-उपहार आदि बांटता है।

(Santacluz kaa rup dharkar vyakti bachon ko taaiyaan- uphaar aadi baanttaa hai.)

The person dresses up in the form of Santaclauz and distributes toffees, gifts etc. to  the children.

ऐसा कहा जाता है कि सांताक्लाज स्वर्ग ( heaven) से आता है और लोगों को मनचाही चीजें उपहार के तौर पर देकर जाता है।

(Aisaa kahaa jaataa hai ki Santacluz swarg se aataa hai aur logon ko manchaahee cheejein uphaar ke taur

par dekhar jaataa hai.)

It is said that Santacluz comes from the heaven and goes after giving gifts  to the people per their choice.
