हिंदी में दो तरह के लिंग (पुल्लिंग एवं स्त्रीलिंग) होते हैं|

There are two types of gender (masculine and feminine) in Hindi.
Masculine word, denotes, male word and feminine word i.e. female words.
पुल्लिंग(pulling) masculine
स्त्रीलिंग (streeling) feminine
पिता (pita) – father
माता (maata) – mother
बेटा (beta) – son
बेटी (betee) – daughter
राजा (raja) – king
रानी (ranee) – queen
पति (pati) – husband
पत्नी (patni) – wife
लड़का (ladka) – boy
लड़की (ladkee) – girl
घोडा (ghoda) – horse
घोडी(ghodee) – mare
कुत्ता (kutta) – dog
कुत्तिया (kuttiya) – bitch/female dog
नाना (nana) – maternal grand father
नानी (nanee) – maternal grand mother
दादा (dada) – paternal grand  father
दादी (daadee) – paternal  grand mother
पुरुष – (purush) – male
स्त्री (stree) – female
बकरा (bakra) – goat
बकरी (bakree) – she-goat
सर्प (sarp) – snake
सर्पिणी (sarpinee) – female snake
अध्यापक (adhyapak) – teacher
अध्यापिका (adhyapika) – lady teacher
नौकर (naukar) – Servant
नौकरानी (naukaranee) – maid servant
लेखक (lekhak) – writer
लेखिका (lekhika) – female writer
कवि (kavi) – poet
कवयित्री (kavyitree) – poetess
हाथी (hathi) elephant
हथिनी (hathinee) – she elephant
गायक (gayak) Singer
गायिका (gayika) – female singer
सेवक (sevak) – server
सेविका (sevika) – female server
वर (var) – bridegroom
वधू (vadoo) bride (also: दूल्हा (dulhaa)   दुल्हिन ( dulhin)
दूध (doodh) – milk
दही (dahee) -curd ( Seems to be an exception as used as  masculine only ( e.g Dahee khatta hota hai.)
Write the following words in Hindi.  Leave them as comments to this lesson
पुल्लिंग (Masculine):
Name of grains  (like wheat, rice)
metal/article name  (e.g. iron, gold, water, oil, ghee (clarified butter)
name of days  (e.g. Monday, Tuesday, etc.)
countries name  (e.g. India, America, Africa, etc.)
mountain and name of the sea  (e.g. Himalaya, Indian Ocean)
mode of transport  (e.g. truck,  scooter, airplane)
other words e.g. stone  (patthar),  pitcher  (ghada),  cloud (baadal),
flower (fool), ground  (jameen), city (shahar), shoe (joota), box (buksaa), tree (paiyd), etc.
स्त्रीलिंग (feminine)
name of the rivers  (e.g. Ganges, Yamuna)
name of the languages  (e.g. Hindi, English, Urdu)
name of the pulses  (dal or lentils):  Arhar, moong, urad, etc.
other words i.e  land (pruthvee or bhumi),  fire (agni), mercy (daya), power (shakti),
caste (jaati),  air (hawaa), laugh, education, season, etc.

Please write the Hindi word and gender for: bull,cow,father- in- law and mother-in-law
